# How to download?

**Troubleshooting downloads**

If a download processes but does not appear in your browser's download list, or a CSV will not open while the PDF works, the issue may be with the download itself rather than your search. Try the download again from both the email link and the logged-in Probate Data search. If the file link redirects to another site or shows the same error through both methods, the download may be affected by a system issue. Contact support with the affected county/data and the error message or screenshot so the file can be investigated and sent again if needed.

**How to download search results**

1. **Perform a Search**

* Go to **New Search** or select a past search from **Saved Searches**.
* Choose the state (e.g., California), county (e.g., Los Angeles), and date range (e.g., April 2023).
* Apply filters (e.g., only “Available” cases) by clicking **Modify Filters** and running the search again.
2. **Select Records to Download**

* Adjust the number of records displayed per page (e.g., 10, 25, 50, or up to 500).
* Select individual records, all records on the page, or click **Select All** to choose all records in the search (e.g., 174 total results).
3. **Choose Download Format**

* Click **Download**, and choose one of the following formats:

* **CSV**: A spreadsheet file ideal for CRMs, mail merges, or dialers.
* **PDF**: Displays one lead per page, useful for printing or viewing.
* **Both**: Downloads as a ZIP file containing both formats.

These are the only download formats currently offered. A previously downloaded CSV cannot be converted to PDF through the download options; run the search again and select **PDF** or **Both**.
4. **View or Use the Downloaded File**

* Open the file once the download is complete:

* **CSV**: Open in Excel or Google Sheets to sort, filter, or upload data.
* **PDF**: Open to view details, with each lead presented on a separate page.

**Downloading new case files from email notifications**

When new cases arrive, ProbateData sends an email listing the county, number of new cases, and available file formats. Click the desired **CSV** or other format link in the email to download the file. You can also access emailed leads and alerts by signing in to the ProbateData portal and selecting the **notifications bell icon** in the upper-right corner.

If a download appears to process without starting, try the download again. If it continues, note the county, file format (CSV, PDF, or both), and whether you started from the email or inside the ProbateData account; these details help identify the download issue.

**Summary:** Use the download options in Probate Data to obtain search results in formats tailored to your needs, whether for digital management (CSV) or easy reference (PDF).
